2024 Awards
AbCellera TechBio Award - $250
To be awarded to the student(s) whose project demonstrates independent thinking through creativity and innovation on topics at the interface of biology and technology. Students in all grades are eligible for this award.
BC Agriculture in the Classroom Award (BC Agriculture in the Classroom) - $65
To be awarded to an outstanding project that shows the practical application of scientific principles to agriculture. Students from Grades 5 to 12 are eligible for the award.
BC Game Developers Innovation Award - Grades 7-8: $50 | Grades 9-10: $100 | Grades 11-12: $150

To be awarded to the student(s) whose project demonstrates creativity and innovation in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or astronomy.
BC Hydro Power Pioneers Award - $100
To be awarded to a student(s) from grades 4 to 12 who creates a project which creatively demonstrates electrical conservation and its environmental, social, and economical impacts.
BC Science Teachers' Award (BC Science Teachers' Association) - $100
To be awarded to a student from grades 7 or 8 for an experimental project in any category that has clearly presented a hypothesis and independent, controlled variables.
Engineers and Geoscientists BC Award - $250
To be awarded to outstanding engineering projects. Projects eligible for this award include those in the field of chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, industrial and mechanical engineering as well as systems design.
Genome BC Award - $300
To be awarded to two projects dealing with a topic of life sciences, particularly of genomic interest. Students in all grades are eligible for this award.
Julia Lane Award (Julia Lane Foundation) - $300
To be awarded to a student with a passion for science and community. Preference given to female candidates with projects relating to Geology or Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Michael Crooks Physics Prize (BC Association of Physics Teachers) - $125
To be awarded to a student or students in Grades 6 - 12 who has done an outstanding physics-related project.
Nelson Hydro Award - $100
To be awarded to a student in grades 7 - 12 who show an interest in electricity, the environment, and/or safety.
Sanofi Biogenius Canada Award - $100
To be awarded to an outstanding project by students in grades 7-12 related to biotechnology – the use of biological systems to produce goods and services – or life sciences.
SCWIST Award (Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology) - $100
To be awarded to young women, preferably in Grades 8 - 10, whose project shows the greatest curiosity, ingenuity, and innovation in design. The award is intended to encourage the student's interest in science. A student may not receive this award more than once.
Vancouver RASC Martha Pearse Award (Royal Astronomical Society Vancouver Centre) - $50
To be awarded to the best astronomy or physics project that demonstrates creativity, innovation, and contributes to a greater public understanding of science.
Women in Engineering and Geoscience Award (Engineers & Geoscientists BC) - $50
To be awarded to a young woman, or a partnership including at least one young woman, who presents and communicates an ingenious solution to an engineering or applied science problem/project by applying their knowledge of science and math.
Scholarship Nominations
Genome BC Scholarship - $1,000
To be awarded to a Grade 11 or 12 student who has developed a science and technology project focused on areas of life sciences, including but not limited to human health, forestry, fisheries, agriculture, bioenergy, mining and the environment. The winner must pursue a science degree in British Columbia.
Julia Lane Scholarship (Julia Lane Foundation) - $3,000
To be awarded to a Grade 11 or 12 student with a passion for science and community. Preference given to female candidates with projects relating to Geology or Earth and Environmental Sciences. One student will be nominated to apply for the scholarship.
Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Scholarship - $1,900
To be awarded to a Grade 11 or 12 student with an outstanding project that shows the practical application of scientific principles to identifying and addressing a transportation-related issue. One student will be nominated to apply for the scholarship.
